
The essay topic for the 2025 National Secondary School Examination (Enem) was announced by the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, a few hours after the start of the exams for more than 4.8 million candidates taking the exam on Sunday (9/11), across the country.
Candidates must prepare a text that addresses “Perspectives on Aging in Brazilian Society.” to CapitalsColégio Galois writing teacher Bárbara Andrade Soares reported that the committee chose an excellent topic. “The aging of the Brazilian population is a major concern at the moment,” he stressed.
“Today, in Brazil, we see the inversion of the age pyramid, where there are more old people than young people, so the country, together with the population, needs to think about public policies that make us confront this problem,” said Barbara.

According to the teacher, the committee invites students, and therefore society as a whole, to reflect on this reality that permeates Brazil as a whole.
It warns of potential “problems” that could affect candidates’ scores. “I think the trick is for students to summarize the problem as abandonment of the elderly, starvation, and the violence that the elderly face,” he noted.
Galois’s teacher considered that despite the consequences and concerns, it is necessary to understand that the discussion seeks to think in a more holistic way. “It is about understanding the challenges, causes and consequences of an aging population in Brazil,” he said.
