The brotherhood of the Archangel Saint Raphael Custos of Cordoba designates Rafael Gomez Diaz as Exalter of San Rafael for the year 2026, an appointment that recognizes his deep faith and his long commitment to fraternity and the religious life of the city.
Natural of … Córdoba, Rafael Gómez Díaz has more than 40 years of service and active participation in different companies, including the Cistercian Fraternityin which he was first secretary and president of the commission that promoted the design and realization of the Nuestro Padre Jesús de la Sangre pass, according to the San Rafael corporation.
Likewise, Rafael Gómez has belonged to the Merced brotherhood for 38 years. He has a long career as a costalero and participated in the institutional life of the Group of Brotherhoods and Brotherhoods of Cordoba.
He gave various proclamations, conferences and exaltations in brotherhoods and religious events, which is why its human, spiritual and cultural connection with the devotional fabric of Córdoba stands out.

In the professional field, it is full professor of Food Technology at the Department of Bromatology and Food Technology of the University of Córdoba (UCO), institution to which he has been continuously linked since 1992.
Graduated and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UCO, he obtained the extraordinary doctorate prize and throughout his academic career he taught in the degrees of veterinary medicine and food sciences and technologies, as well as in various university masters, including the Interuniversity Master in Agri-Food, of which he coordinates the agri-food production route.

With extensive experience in academic management, he was vice dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, director of the Department of Bromatology and Food Technology and member of the Board of Directors of the University of Córdoba.
Currently it serves as CEO of the Commercial Corporation of the University of Cordoba and its beneficiary companies (UCOidiomas, UCOdeporte and UCO Veterinary Clinical Hospital).
