Aguas de Alicante closes 2025 maintaining its commitment to the generation of educational opportunities, the improvement of occupation and the creation of sustainable communities in the municipalities in which it ensures the daily management of the integral water cycle: Alicante, El Campello, … Monforte del Cid, Petrer, Sant Vicent del Raspeig and Sant Joan d’Alacant.
Throughout these twelve months, the company has launched a new call for its initiative ‘Young Talents Scholarshipwhich gave rise to three scholarships from the University of Alicante for this 2024-2025 edition, in a program which includes, in addition to financial aid for study and tuition fees, support for academically remarkable young people who may however be limited by their financial resources, indicates the company in a press release.
This line of action also includes the Aquae Stem program, the aim of which is to promote STEM vocations (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) to primary school students, particularly girls, through manual exercises, digital content and lectures given by women leaders in the field of science and technology. During the year 2025, the CEIPs Santísima Faz (Alicante), Jorge Juan (Monforte del Cid) and Raspeig (San Vicente del Raspeig) participated, with a total of 142 schoolchildren participating.
In addition, Aguas de Alicante welcomed thirteen students in the educational internship modality, thus promoting training that generates educational opportunities combining theoretical learning and practical learning that the company offers in its various work centers.
Likewise, he continued to bet on the OLA program (acronym for “Occupation”, “Leadership” and “Support”), launched in 2023 in collaboration with the Red Cross and Alicante City Hall, which seeks to improve the situation of users of the company’s Social Fund. It combines the coverage of basic needs with a specific program aimed at improving employability and developing the skills necessary for professional placement. OLA promoted its third edition this year, with 52 participants, 100% loyalty of its participants and a placement of around 50%.
The company wishes to contribute to the creation of trained and empowered communities to promote sustainable development, environmental protection and responsible consumption of resources. This includes programs and campaigns that promote knowledge of the integral water cycle and sustainability at all ages, with a particular focus on the school scene.
Some of these actions constitute the program Aqualogy raise awareness of the value of water and the environment from childhood, through games, experiences and challenges intended for primary school students. Present for more than 10 years, Aqualogy welcomed 2,061 participants in 2025, during 86 sessions organized in 22 schools.
Visits to the company’s facilities were also encouraged, such as those carried out in La Marjal Park in Alicante as part of scheduled visits, as well as scientific activity at its bird ringing station; or the Alicante Water Museum, which has welcomed more than 40,000 visitors to its facilities (more than 300,000 since its opening in 2009).
On the other hand, the “Veolia Cares” corporate volunteering program, which gives all staff the opportunity to participate in a day of corporate volunteering aimed at social or environmental causes, offered activities related to helping those affected by the Valencia dana or financial education for participants in the OLA program.
