A helicopter from the Band television channel made an emergency landing this Monday afternoon (29) in the parking lot of a transport company in the city of Guarulhos, in the metropolitan region of São Paulo, according to firefighters. Both occupants, the pilot and crew, were rescued and are doing well, Band said.
The plane crashed while flying over the Parque Novo Mundo area, between the Presidente Dutra and Fernão Dias highways, north of São Paulo.
Around 5:30 p.m., the pilot, accompanied by the cameraman, noticed the loss of engine power and made a forced landing in a place he considered safe, the channel reported. The location is on Avenida Educador Paulo Freire, close to Dutra.
Firefighters dispatched a rescue unit and two other vehicles to the scene.
According to Band, the plane is up to date on maintenance and certifications. “Band regrets the incident and provides its full support to the professionals,” the company said in a press release.
