In 1951, after a friendly match between Santos and the French football team, Brigitte Bardot met Pelé, who according to her was “extraordinary”. The match against the Brazilian player took place at the Colombes stadium, in Paris, and the French actress, who died this Sunday (28) at the age of 91, kicked off the match.
In an old video released by the French newspaper Le Parisien, Bardot claims that Pelé was incomparable. “There is no other,” he replied to a group of journalists. She also calls the athlete an “idol.”
Brigitte Bardot stayed out of the spotlight at the end of her life and focused on animal rights activism. The death of the actress, who marked an era as a sex symbol, was confirmed this Sunday (28) by the foundation that bears the actress’ name.
