After four years since Far Cry 6, and without official data about its successor, Far Cry 7 suffered the inevitable fate of “secret” projects: leaks.
The only information coming from Ubisoft was the comment that This new installment will focus on multiplayer mode; although it may refer to a side project.
Now gameplay and setting data is coming in, and it looks like we have to pack our bags: the next Far Cry will take us to another continent.

Far Cry 7 suffers leak
Both Far Cry 7 and the saga’s extraction shooter have suffered leaks. In other words, the Blackbird and Maverick projects, codenamed during their development.
This is shown by the X GameGPU account, with four screens showing locations, the interface and other elements. The problem is that it’s not clear which game each image belongs to.
Although the middle points to Alaska, the ruins are more reminiscent of the Mayan pyramids in Mexico. Either way, the new game will take us to an exotic location.
There is a scoreboard with team names like the Renegades and Warhawkswhich suggests it’s the extraction shooter Ubisoft is cooking up.
Insider Gaming clarifies the matter: the images do not belong to Far Cry 7 or the spin-off, but rather They come from Talisker, a multiplayer mode that has since been canceled.
In this regard, VGC’s Andy Robinson agrees that the images are old: “they may be out of fashion, many things have changed”.
But they could belong to Far Cry 7. Confused? It’s simple: Several elements of Talisker were carried over to seventh edition.
For example, we see how a giant rat drags a corpse. Talisker would experiment with mutant animalsaspect that will be present in Far Cry 7.
Instead of, Maverick (the extraction shooter) will opt for a more realistic scheme: There will be animals, but they will be wolves, bears and other creatures “for life”.
An image shows the Beckett family, and this will be crucial in the game. According to insider information from Insider Gaming, The focus of Far Cry 7 will be rescuing our relatives.
For this we will have 24 hours “in real time”which will translate into 72 games. A gameplay loop that represents a radical change in the saga… Assuming it is maintained in the final game.
Ubisoft’s complex situation adds more uncertainty: Maverick could be cancelled, Far Cry 7 could be completely remade (and add more delays), or for the company to interrupt all its plans with the saga.
Be that as it may, We won’t know until the end of 2026which is the earliest date for Far Cry 7, according to estimates. The game should arrive for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC; with a possible port for Nintendo Switch 2.
