
The National Institute of the Environment (Inea) published this Monday the first bulletin with the maximum temperatures and thermal sensations recorded in 10 municipalities where air quality measuring stations are located. The town of Cantagalo was the one that recorded the highest maximum, with a temperature of 38.2 degrees and a thermal sensation of 45.

— We are expanding our service to serve the population and town halls with whom we already exchange information on weather conditions, precipitation and river water levels. We examine the needs and find a way to quickly know where the heat is concentrated and where the population and public managers must be particularly vigilant — explained Bernardo Rossi, Secretary of State for the Environment and Sustainable Development.

- Volta Redonda – 37.2 (temperature) and 40.7 (feel)
- Itaguaí – 34.7 (temperature) and 40.5 (feeling)
- Seropedica – 33.1 (temperature) and 40.1 (feeling)
- Resende – 37.9 (temperature) and 39.0 (feeling)
- Barra Mansa – 35.0 (temperature) and 38.7 (feel)
- Rio de Janeiro – 31.7 (temperature) and 38.7 (feel)
- Coatis – 32.1 (temperature) and 37.0 (sensation)
- Macaé – 30.3 (temperature) and 34.7 (feel)
