Fight before crime
The police investigation indicates that the barbecue started around 8 p.m. A friend of Raphaël said in a statement that Geovanna was at her boyfriend’s house at the time of the meeting, appearing calm, but not participating in the party. About an hour later, the young woman left the residence claiming that she was going to have her nails done.
From that moment, Geovanna began to threaten her boyfriend and an acquaintance via messages, showing jealousy towards the women she did not know and who were at the barbecue organized by Raphaël. In a message sent to her boyfriend, the suspect intimidates: “This steak knife will cut your neck. ” Additionally, she said her partner would “kiss the devil.”

Report highlights depression, suicidal thoughts in young man who killed boyfriend
The conversations, taken from WhatsApp and presented to the São Paulo civil police, are considered by investigators to be central elements of the investigation and reinforce suspicions that the murder was premeditated and motivated by jealousy.
During the conversation, the suspect also told his boyfriend that he took “everything as a joke.” Additionally, she directed Raphael toward expressions such as “desire to have and boredom to possess” to indicate the frustration of being alone.
At 2:10 a.m., Geovanna sent a message to an acquaintance who was at her boyfriend’s barbecue, telling him that she didn’t want women there: “I don’t want one of your friends or anyone else coming into Raphael’s house. So I’m not going over there and breaking him and everything he has there, I’d rather you take care of it,” the first sequence of text says.
Then the acquaintance tried to explain that the women present all grew up with the rest of the staff and that there was no “nastiness” at the barbecue. A vain attempt since, at 2:22 a.m., Geovanna announced that she was leaving the house and warned: “There will be no conversation. I told you to resolve the problem between yourselves. That did not resolve it.”
The suspect went to the house where she lived with her mother and stepmother, Gabrielle Schneid de Pinho, who woke up and accompanied Geovanna on the way to Raphael’s house. Witnesses reported that when she arrived at the address, the young woman had to be restrained by her boyfriend to prevent the women there from being attacked.
Exiting the barbecue
Raphael tried to resolve the situation, but shortly after, he left his house on a motorbike to walk around the area. Geovanna and her mother-in-law also left the property and began searching for the boy. The young man was passing a wine cellar, where two friends were, including Joyce Correa da Silva, the second victim of the crash.
He then called Joyce for a ride on the back of the motorcycle, which was considered by witnesses and his colleagues to be “normal”, as Raphaël was in the habit of inviting his colleagues for this type of ride. Geovanna saw the interaction and began a chase, which resulted in the collision and death of both, on Rua Professor Leitão da Cunha. The impact of the accident was so great that the victims were ejected.
A third victim was hit during the pursuit and suffered a cut to the head, but was rescued and is OK.
Additionally, Geovanna’s mother-in-law was in the car at the time of the collision. In a statement to the police, Gabrielle, who is a doctor, explained that she was threatened by witnesses to the accident as she got out of the vehicle. For fear of being lynched, she said, she fled the scene.
After crushing
According to testimony from three witnesses, shortly after running over and killing Raphael and Joyce, Geovanna went to a restaurant where a childhood friend of her boyfriend worked and told him, “Go help your friend and the bitch I just killed.”
Geovanna even attempted to leave the scene after the crime, but felt dizzy and sleepy and ended up lying down on a sidewalk near the accident site. Military police officers called to intervene found the suspect and took her to AMA Jardim Pirajussara, under police escort. She had cuts on her neck and arms.
The suspect was treated and detained on the spot. The arrest was transformed into preventive the next day, after a custody hearing.
Geovanna must answer for a double homicide for frivolous reasons and for the use of a resource which made it difficult for the victims to defend themselves. According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the case is being investigated by the 37th Police District (Campo Limpo).
Authorities are also seeking to identify possible people involved, witnesses and new images that could clarify the facts. According to the police report, the crime was not a simple accident, as Geovanna’s jealousy and the victims’ inability to defend themselves underline the premeditated nature of the act.
