Caixa has postponed the Mega da Virada draw to this Thursday (1/1), at 10 a.m. Punters competing for the historic prize of 1.09 billion reais can follow the six dozen draws in real time on the Metropoles YouTube channel. Watch:
The draw was scheduled for Wednesday evening (12/31), continuing the tradition that the prize would be announced on the last day of the year, but it was postponed, in an unprecedented way, due to the high flow of bets.
In a note sent to MetropolisesCaixa reported that the record price generated “an unprecedented movement in betting channels, which reached 120,000 transactions per second in the digital channel and 4,745 transactions per second in lottery units.”
The decision was announced more than an hour late. Bets were already closed at 8 p.m.
Mega da Virada does not accumulate
Unlike regular competitions, the Mega da Virada prize does not accumulate. If no one reaches six tens, the amount will be divided between the punters who succeed in the corner and, if necessary, between the other bands.
