The Brazilian national team will return to the field on Saturday (15) at one in the afternoon (Brasilia time), to face Senegal at the Emirates Stadium in London. The match opens the last friendly window for the year 2025 and represents another opportunity for Carlo Ancelotti to adjust his team before the final session towards the 2026 World Cup.
The commitment in the English capital will be the penultimate in Brazil this year. On Tuesday (18), the team concludes the calendar by facing Tunisia in France. Interestingly, both the Brazilians and Senegalese have already secured qualification for the World Cup and could meet again in the group stage, as they are not expected to be in the same pot in the draw scheduled for December 5 in the United States.
Since taking over the leadership of the national team last May, Ancelotti has stressed the importance of using 2025 as a monitoring year. The coach seeks to get to know the athletes in depth, especially those who play in national football. In this call-up, two new players gained space: left-back Luciano Goba, from Bahia, and striker Vitor Roque, one of Palmeiras’ stars. Fabinho, who has been called up for the first time since the 2022 World Cup, also returns.
While Brazil is using this moment to unite ideas and determine the group that will follow it until 2026, Senegal is going through a different period. Before focusing exclusively on the World Cup, the African national team will compete in the African Cup of Nations, scheduled to be held between December 21 and January 18.
Therefore, the friendly match in London brings two teams face to face at different stages, but equally determined to fine-tune the important details for a 2026 that promises to be full of excitement.
