
The Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that Framber Adolfo Vásquez Aponte, known as “Finico”, was sentenced to 18 years and six months in prison, in the city of Cúcuta, Norte de Santander province.
Judicial investigations found him guilty of two murders recorded in June in the capital of northern Santander, one of which resulted in a person being seriously injured.

The ruling came after the accused accepted, as part of a prior agreement, his direct participation in two rings of hired killers.
The Foundation confirmed that an experienced judge supported the judicial negotiation and issued the ruling for the crimes of premeditated murder, attempted premeditated murder, and manufacturing, trading, carrying, or possession of firearms, their accessories, parts, or ammunition.
According to the reconstruction of events provided by the investigative body, the first attack occurred on a public road in Cúcuta. When Vasquez Aponte got off a motorcycle and shot, without mediation, a citizen, he lost his life instantly.
Later, he and another person involved attacked new victims inside a local shopping centre, killing another person and seriously wounding a third.

The authorities were able to catch Vasquez Aponte red-handed on June 5, the day he was intercepted by the National Police while traveling on a motorcycle and carrying the weapon used in the events. Since that moment, the convict has been in pretrial detention.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the ruling has been completed and the convict will serve his sentence in prison, in implementation of the court’s ruling.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office also reported that Ricardo Rafael González Castro, identified as one of those involved in the fatal attack on university student Jaime Esteban Moreno Jaramillo, in Bogotá, received security protection in a prison center.
The decision was made by the Criminal Collateral Supervision Judge after the defendant was arrested by the Technical Investigation Authority (CTI) at the facilities of the Canabot Immediate Response Unit (URI) in Cartagena, after appearing before the authority.

According to the investigation, on October 31, 2025, Gonzalez Castro chased the victim along a public road and kicked him in the back.
“The defendant is accused of kicking the victim and leaving her defenseless.“, explained the Public Prosecutor’s Office. Already on the ground, Juan Carlos Suarez Ortiz – also under investigation – continued the attack with blows.
The student, who was seriously injured, was transferred to a health center where he was diagnosed with severe trauma to the face, skull and chest, injuries that later caused his death.
At the indictment hearing, the prosecutor of the Life Unit of the Bogota Division accused González Castro of premeditated murder, although the defendant did not accept the charge.
The authorities are maintaining security measures while investigations into the death of the young university student in the Colombian capital progress.
In parallel, the Public Prosecutor’s Office reported the arrest of two men identified as John Eduard Quintero Bonilla and John Alexandre Murcia Ramirez, who will remain under security measures in a prison after being identified as allegedly responsible for the robbery and murder of a citizen in Neiva (Huila), according to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The prosecution explained that the defendants were arrested by servers from the Technical Investigation Authority (CTI), with the support of the National Police, after collecting elements of physical evidence that allowed them to be presented before the security control judge.

According to the investigation, the events under investigation occurred on June 30 in an institution located in the Arismendi Mora neighborhood of the capital, Huila, when the accused arrived at the building and attacked a group of people who were sharing with their families.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the assailants allegedly stole some jewelry and a cell phone from the victim, and in the midst of the struggle, one of the accused allegedly fired shots repeatedly.causing the person’s death. During the same violent attack, another person was injured and was treated at the medical center.
The Prosecutor’s Office established that the alleged perpetrators fled the scene on a motorcycle and seized assets worth more than 20 million pesos. The authorities began arresting him and bringing him to justice, ensuring the continuity of procedures against him inside a prison center during the course of the investigation.
