The Dr. Noel H. Spara Hospital Choir, established in 2000 by its current director Marina Buffagni, will perform its 25th anniversary concert this afternoon at the Symbolic Medical Center on the 8th, 67th, with an open invitation to the entire community.
The long-awaited artistic meeting, in which former members of the vocal corps from all eras will participate, will take place starting at seven in the evening.
It was the first all-female choral formation, and since 2004 it has been a mixed choir. His repertoire includes original works for choir – with an emphasis on contemporary Latin American composers – and choral versions of popular tunes.
As part of his project to take music beyond traditional concert venues, he gave performances at the 51st Penal Unit of Magdalena, at the Arolo Institute of Maternity and Childhood, in neighborhood centres, schools and nursing homes, as well as performances for children admitted to the Sparra Hospital (formerly Casa Cunha).
These spaces are in addition to the concerts held in various venues in La Plata and other cities in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Neuquén, Santa Fe, Salta, Entre Ríos and Córdoba; Also in Buenos Aires and in Montevideo, Uruguay.
As part of his 25th birthday celebrations, this year he also performed in Formosa.
