Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his great satisfaction with Brazil’s 2-0 victory over Senegal, in the friendly match held on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium in London.
Ancelotti praised the balance of the team that scored with Estevao and Casemiro, and highlighted the recovery in defensive security, especially after Militao entered. The convincing performance against an opponent unbeaten for more than two years filled the coach with pride.
In a press conference, Ancelotti highlighted the return of the defensive strength that was shaken after the three goals that Japan conceded in the second half, and praised the team’s collective effort and tactical implementation:
“It was a very beautiful match. With sacrifice and focus on the defensive level. I liked the work done, the sacrifice, and this idea of the match that we wanted to do well with the quality and defensive focus and all the players worked very well. There was great pressure in the first half, and control in the second half, because we did not need very high pressure as in the first half. The quality of the players in attack made the difference.”
