The percentage of abstentions on the first day of the Enem (national high school exam) held this Sunday (9) was 27%, almost the same as in 2024 (26.6%). According to Camilo Santana, Minister of Education, the result shows stability in attendance for the exam.
Tests were conducted in 1,805 municipalities, in 11,791 test sites and in about 165,000 rooms. The answer key will be released on Thursday (13) and final results will be delivered in January 2026.
In Paraná, testing will be reintroduced on December 16 and 17. The state was hit by a tornado last weekend, killing six people. Candidates who wish to participate on these dates must request to re-apply between November 17 and 21.
“Yesterday (Saturday) I contacted the governor and made the entire ministry available for the reconstruction, especially in the most affected city, Río Bonito do Iguaçu. We did not have an application in that city, but all those who want to reapply will have the right,” the minister said at a press conference held at Inep (National Institute for Educational Studies and Research Anício Teixeira), the body responsible for the test.
In the test, 3,240 participants were excluded, for reasons such as carrying electronic equipment and leaving the test site with the question book before the last 30 minutes of the test.
According to the ministry, there were no significant incidents in this year’s test. There was also an 11% increase in the number of registrants compared to the 2024 edition and 38% compared to the 2022 edition.
Today’s test included questions about languages, symbols, their technologies, and the humanities, as well as an article entitled “Perspectives on Aging in Brazilian Society.” Standards of beauty, religiosity, and energy transmission were among the topics covered in this year’s questions.
According to Enem Commission data, there were 4.8 million confirmed registrations for this year’s exam. Of the total, 1.8 million students are completing secondary school.
According to ENEP, due to COP30, candidates from Belém, Ananendua and Maritoba, in Pará, will sit for the exam on another date. They must take the test on November 30 and December 7.
Gates to the testing sites opened at noon and closed at 1 p.m. The exam actually started at 1:30 p.m., with 90 objective questions and the essay. The test continued until seven in the evening, for a maximum of five and a half hours.
This year, the Enem test once again became a valid way to obtain a high school diploma. More than 98 thousand registrants requested the certificate. The test also included the use of metal detectors in all categories and an increase in the number of applicants.
