Heber has worked at PMERJ for 17 years and has made no secret of his pride in being associated with the company. He was known for the phrase he always said before any mission: “No one’s going to stop us,” and he would tell his wife that if he died in the line of duty, he would be left doing what he loved most.

In an interview for the article, Jessica revealed that she and her children are living day by day, learning how to deal with the pain of grief and Heber’s physical absence.
“good guy”
Heber was surrounded by friends, widely known in the company, and loved by all. According to Jessica, who is still trying to come to terms with the “widow” title, he was a “good man.”
“He left a legacy to his children, to his friends, to everyone, to Brazil. Today, Brazil watches everything he did, everything he fought for society,” he added.
“We live one day at a time. There are ups and downs. What comforts me, what gives me the strength to continue, is the legacy he left, the fact that he died defending the community, working honestly,” he recalls, trying to contain his emotions.
Jessica now lives with her two children. She said the family had always been very close, and the loss only strengthened the bond. “Now I am for them, moving forward and feeling Heber’s presence close by, helping to continue his legacy.”
When Jessica was asked about the search for justice, she answered with clear clarity that she believes that when you sow goodness, you reap goodness. He pointed out: “I do not need justice. Whoever sows evil will inevitably reap evil.”

“Keep praying”
On the day of the operation, the widow shared the last messages she exchanged with her husband on social media. In the version posted to Instagram Stories, Jessica revealed that she exchanged messages with Heber while he was still participating in the event.
It was exactly 10:10 a.m. on October 28 when Jessica sent a message asking if her husband was okay and stated that she was praying for him. After about 40 minutes, he replied, “I’m fine. Keep praying.” That was the last time the Prime Minister responded to messages.
The messages Jessica sent later showed concern, and the five-plus missed calls revealed the desperation of those who already felt the worst.
