The Vice President of the Toledo Provincial Council, Joaquin Romera, inaugurated the new facilities, accompanied by the Mayor of the city of Galvez, Manuel Fernandez, in a huge event that brought together hundreds of residents.
The day included the traditional ribbon cutting, unveiling of the memorial plaque, and blessing by the local priest.
It means total investment, mainly financed by the Toledo County Council €90,000 through the exceptional investment plan, While the Galvez City Council contributed the remaining 15%.
According to the Vice President, “This project is another example of the regional corporation’s commitment to the municipalities of Toledo, promoting works that improve local infrastructure and promote coexistence among citizens.”
During his speech, Joaquín Romera also wanted to highlight that “this multipurpose room is the best example of what we achieve when institutions work together for the well-being of people. The Toledo County Council stands shoulder to shoulder with municipalities, promoting actions that transform cities and improve the lives of their neighbors.”
For his part, Galvez Mayor Manuel Fernandez thanked the county council for its support and stressed that “this new space is the result of everyone’s commitment to making Galvez a more vibrant and socially active city.”
The advisor recalled that the building, “which was part of our history and had been closed for years, has been reopened today as a cultural and entertainment facility,” and explained that “the new hall will be available for assemblies, school activities, exhibitions, local group rehearsals, skating, or neighborhood celebrations.”
Romera encouraged attendees to “fill this multi-purpose space with life” and utilize it as a meeting point for local concerts, parties or performances, stressing that rehabilitating the silo “is a smart investment in serving the people.”
With this action, the old silo of Gálvez becomes an example of the recovery of municipal heritage at the service of citizens, as well as a symbol of the model of institutional cooperation that the Toledo County Council promotes throughout the province, betting on the balanced development of the province and our cities, modernizing the infrastructure and strengthening the social fabric of the municipalities of Toledo.
