This was announced on Thursday by the President of the FEMP and the Mayor of Jerez de la Frontera, María José García Pelayo, in the presence of representatives of the candidates. Burgos, Cáceres, Granada, Jerez, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, León, Oviedo, Palma, Butres (Valencia) and Toledo.
The total number of candidates announced so far is twelve, although FEMP indicates that more candidates could be announced until the end of December, as the application deadline ends on 28 December.

The meeting was attended by representatives of these cities who presented their proposals to work on joint initiatives. In the meantime, each of them continues to work on writing nomination books, awaiting their evaluation by a committee that will in turn make its decision and submit its report to the European Commission and the Ministry of Culture.
