The Belgian National Lottery has confirmed that it has been able to identify the winner of the jackpot of 3.5 million euros (about 21 million Brazilian reais) drawn on June 14 of this year, after more than four and a half months without any player action. The foundation said in a statement issued on Tuesday (4) that the winning ticket was registered in the Wasland district, in the province of East Flanders, but the lucky winner has remained completely anonymous until now.

On September 24, the National Lottery publicly announced that it was searching for the lottery winner, as the prize had not yet been claimed – one of the highest prizes distributed in the country in 2025. According to the rules, the amount can only be claimed until November 1, prompting the institution to open an internal process to trace the holder of the winning ticket.
According to the statement, “the efficiency of the computer systems and the experience of its employees” made it possible to identify the bettor in a timely manner. During the entire period, no contact was made with the winner, raising concerns about the possibility of the eventual loss of the millionaire’s sum.
Falling before the deadline, the bookmaker thanked the team for their work. “I am very grateful to the National Lottery for the efforts they made to find me,” he said, according to local press. “Without them, I would not have won this big prize.” He also stated that he intends to invest the money in real estate and vacation trips.
To preserve the privacy of the new millionaire, there will be no public ceremony at the point of sale where the ticket was registered. The National Lottery stressed that it will not reveal any additional information that would allow you to be identified, and stressed the importance of players checking their ballot papers, as the deadlines for claiming prizes are very limited.
