
Teobaldo says the idea was born from the desire to move Afro-Brazilian memory beyond museums: “Gentileza Station is a place of transit, but also a place of encounter. Choosing this site means recognizing that history does not only inhabit institutions and monuments, but pulsates in the everyday spaces through which thousands of people pass every day. This means understanding that memory is a right for all, not a privilege of the few,” says the curator.
