After a long wait, next year Netflix will finally add it to its catalog One Piece: Going to the Grand Line2nd season of series live action based on the acclaimed manga Eiichiro Oda.
This new batch of episodes will close the East Blue saga and begin with the Alabasta saga, where Luffy and his band of Straw Hat pirates will enter the Grand Line to continue their adventure in search of One Piece.
During the journey, they will continue dealing with the Navy, where they will encounter the dangerous Smoker and his assistant Tashigi. Additionally, he will also be after Straw Hat Baroque Works, a mysterious and secretive bounty hunting organization.
But they won’t be the only threats our protagonists will face, as another powerful villain will want to sink his jaws into them. Literally.
First look at Wapol, one of the main villains of One Piece: Going to the Grand Line
During the Drum Island arc (which will end the 2nd season of the live action Netflix), Luffy and company will meet Wapol, the evil king who rules the place.
Like many of the other enemies the Straw Hats will encounter, Wapol is a Devil Fruit user who has ingested the Yum Yum fruit, which gives him the power to eat anything.from swords and firearms to entire houses.
To whet your appetite (pun intended), Netflix released a new preview of One Piece: Going to the Grand Line showing the first glimpse of Rob Colletti in the role of Wapol. You can take a look below.
Although very little is shown, the character’s appearance remains quite faithful to the original work, as we have seen so far with the rest of the characters.
Although some graphics have been summarized and modified (which is understandable since the sleeve is very long), the series has managed to maintain Eiichirô Oda’s style, also thanks to the supervision of the mangaka himself, which is why it has deserved praise from fans.
One Piece: Going to the Grand Line It will be available in the Netflix catalog from March 10, 2026. What do you think of this new look at the series with Wapol?
