Rian Johnson explains why a crossover between Daggers in the back and the Dolls
Due to the comedic tone of the franchise many fans consider that the saga of Daggers in the back could make a crossover with the Dollsleading Benoit Blanc to an affair in the world of cinema-style muppets Who is killing the puppets?
The crazy idea ended up becoming a request from many fans, which reached the ears of Rian Johnson himself.
During a recent interview (via The playlist), the filmmaker responded to fans’ requests and explained why it’s not a good idea to mix the Muppets with the detective Benoit Blanc.
“Can we talk a little about the Dolls? I’m not going to make a movie Dolls. This is not the ad. On the internet, the idea of a film Dolls in style Daggers in the back appears a lot. I wanted to get you together here to explain why this is a bad idea.
It’s not a bad idea, but… I love and respect the Muppet movies so much. The truth is that if we put the Muppets in a Benoit Blanc movie, I would feel completely out of place because they would be murdering them.
The alternative is to simply put Benoit Blanc in a Muppet movie, which, I admit, would be a lot of fun, but… it would break Blanc’s essence a little,” joked the director.
Daggers in the back: From the dead hits theaters next November 28and will be available in the catalog Netflix of December 12th. Would you like to see Daniel Craig in a crossover film with the Dolls?
