A Horizon MMO could be announced at South Korean show G-Star 2025 this week, despite rumors of cancellation earlier in the year.
Many of the games as a service in development by Sony PlayStation have been cancelled, including Bluepoint Games’ multiplayer God of War, Bend Studio’s new IP or Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Online.
Fortunately, everything indicates that Guerrilla Games’ Horizon saga MMO is still standing. In early 2025 it was said that it had been cancelled, but it appears that Project H was not the new title in the Sony franchise, but rather an entirely different multiplayer game.
NCSoft and Guerrilla have been working on this title as a service 2021so a presentation 4 years later would make a lot of sense. Now, a new rumor claims that the MMO will be presented this week at G-Star 2025.
The South Korean fair takes place from November 13th to 16th in Busanwith NCSoft as one of the main companies in the sector that will present its new games.
According to the MMORPG portal, this includes Aion 2, Cinder City (formerly Project LLL) and also the new Horizon video game for PS5.
The company defines its dashboard for G-Star 2025 as ”the new frontier of MMORPGs”, and many believe that Project Skyline (as the MMO Horizon is known at the moment) will be the big surprise of the fair.
Horizon’s MMO is the “spiritual successor” to Monster Hunter

To begin with, it must be said that the Horizon MMO created by NCSoft and Guerrilla It’s just one of two multiplayer projects in the Sony franchise. Another game with similar characteristics is also mentioned that will come from the Dutch studio itself.
However, it said that PlayStation’s own Horizon “as a service” will arrive later (probably for the PS6 and the new laptop), and this will be the first course.
Those who saw the presentation video (according to the MMORPG medium) claim that The game is very similar to Monster Hunter.as users will have to group together to form hunting clans and survive in post-apocalyptic environments full of machines.
”NCSoft’s Horizon multiplayer game, currently in development, will launch next week at G-STAR 2025, Korea’s premier video game show”, mentions this leak.
Furthermore, he also mentions the Thursday, November 13th as presentation day of Horizon’s MMO, with three more days of the fair to go.
What if this promising game is tied to the new Asian State of Play that Sony has confirmed? The event will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11, with a focus on new oriental-style games that will arrive on PS5 in the future.
After Horizon Zero Dawn (and its remaster) and Horizon Forbidden West (with Burning Shores), Aloy and company they move to games as a service with up to two MMOs that would be in development by Guerrilla Games and NCSoft (at least one of them).
