The winners are Sandra Mihanović (in the music category); Aldo Sessa (photography); Eduardo Stopia and Pablo Sequer (Visual Arts); Anna Maria Chua (literature), Martin Rohn (public art); ArteBa Foundation (institutionalization) and Inoxmaker (recognition).
The awards were presented within the framework of the Artist in Solidarity Day, an event created on the initiative of AMIA in order to recognize all people in the field of culture who devote their time, effort and talents to collaborate in various works for the common good.
Authoritarians don’t like this
The practice of professional and critical journalism is an essential pillar of democracy. This is why it bothers those who believe they are the bearers of the truth.
The award ceremony was presided over by Elio Kapchuk, Director of Art and Production at AMIA, with a welcome message from the President of the Foundation, Osvaldo Armosa. “This is a recognition that not only celebrates creative paths, but also highlights the power of art to express values, raise awareness and build bridges,” said the AMIA president. “Because artists have a unique ability: the ability to communicate.”
He added: “Connect with emotions, with painful truths, with needs and also with the dreams that we want to see come true.” The entity’s president said: “It is precisely this connection that can generate changes and invite us to think about how to build a more just and compassionate society.”
The evening culminated with the artists singing “hymns” such as La cigarra and Solo le pido a Dios.
