The audience who followed Chocolate com Pimenta certainly remembers Tonico, the son of Ana Francisca (Mariana Ximenes). The character represents the childhood of Guilherme Vieira, now 33 years old. Away from soap operas for more than a decade, he lives a very different life and explains why.
According to what he told LeoDias portal, his departure came when he realized that acting no longer excites him as it used to. He stated that upon completing his last work, on the Cama di Gato, he felt something unexpected:
“I always loved what I did and had a lot of fun in all the series and films I took part in. The last TV series was Cama de Gato, when I was about 18. When it ended, I noticed something different: instead of the sadness I felt in the previous seven works, this time I felt relieved.”
He then highlighted how this feeling influenced the decision to leave his career: “It showed me that this routine no longer made me very happy. After 11 years of editing one TV series after another, I decided to take a break to think about the future. I started university and realized that I would be happier after a more ‘normal’ life, with other possibilities and experiences.”

Although he has been away from television since 2011, Guilherme claims to still be well known. He has participated in numerous Globo productions since he was 6 years old, including Vila Madalena, Bamboluá, O Beijo do Vampiro, América, A Lua Me Disse, O Profeta and a brief appearance in Rebelde.
For the actor, no role has surpassed the reflection of Tonico, from Chocolate com Pimenta: “It was definitely Tonico, from Chocolate com Pimenta. At that time, the series was already a huge success, and over the years, with reruns and access to streaming, the character has remained very present in the audience’s memory.”
Today, Guilherme lives in the Netherlands, married and with a different professional routine, moving into logistics and working in supply chain.
