The gesture of the Attorney General of the Federation, Jorge Mesías, to publicly praise the President of the Senate, Davi Alcolombre (Uniao-AP), in an attempt to limit opposition to the nomination of his name as Minister of the STF, had the opposite effect than he expected.
In a message sent to the Allies on Monday (24) morning, Alcombre rejected this initiative.
He sarcastically said that Lula’s candidate “started well”, as he communicated with him through the press, rather than in person. Messias said, in a statement, that he recognizes and praises “the important role played by President Alcolombre as a member of the House of Representatives, which he now heads for the second time, as a true leader of Congress, attentive to the highest decision-making processes, for the benefit of the country.”
The goal was to establish a truce with Alcolombre, who was upset by the fact that President Lula chose Messias instead of his ally Senator Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG).
