sold 1.5 million since 2022

It seems unbelievable, but Bloodborne is already over 10 years old. And it still remains an exclusive game for PS4as there is no PS5-optimized version, nor a PC port.

Fans are starting to give up, despite the fact that Sony’s IP (although the game is the work of FromSoftware) is still alive in the form of collaborations, comics, or merchandising (there’s even a jewelry collection).

How many games has Bloodborne sold since its release? Soulslike was released for PlayStation 4 on March 24, 2015 and is already available more than 9 million copies sold since then.

But what’s really surprising is that more than one and a half million of the total value corresponds to recent yearsdespite being, by far, Sony’s most overlooked PlayStation exclusive game.

A report published by Alinea Analytics (via Game’s Talk) shows that Bloodborne sold 9 million copies between physical and digital editions, an excellent number if we take into account that it is only available for PS4.

Furthermore, remember that, at the beginning of 2022, FromSoftware confirmed that Bloodborne sales were around 7.5 million.

Ages transmitted by blood like fine wine

What does this mean? Well, the 2015 game sold over a million copies as of mid-2021which is why it continues to be a resounding success, despite the absence of new editions.

Sony should consider a new installment, be it a sequel or perhaps a remaster (or PC port), as FromSoftware has no control over the license (they just developed the game at the time).

Few games can boast of selling more than 1.5 million copies nearly a decade after their release, and It is doubly meritorious as it is a “niche” title like this.

While we wait for news of a Bloodborne resurrection (a source claims a remake is unlikely), it should be noted that FromSoftware is still working on The Duskbloods, its new exclusive for Switch 2.

Shuhei Yoshida, a former Sony executive, guarantees that FromSoftware would not be a video game studio if it weren’t for PlayStation, but it is also true that both parties have conflicted on some occasions.

Bloodborne is one of PlayStation’s greatest gems, which you can enjoy on PS4 any through backwards compatibility on PS5 (but no patch at 60 FPS). Will it ever come to PC?
