It’s still unclear which game will win the GOTY award in The Game Awards 2025although it is obvious that Expedition Clair Obscur 33 is the main favorite for the December 11th event.
Clair Obscur won no less than 7 awards at the Golden Joystick Awards 2025, six of them for the game and one for its creators: Sandfall Interactive.

Sandfall Interactive is a small French studio that created one of the great RPG gems of recent times. Furthermore, Clair Obscur is the debut game, as incredible as it sounds.
Ben Starr, who became known for his role as Clive in Final Fantasy XVI, thanked the entire team for supporting Sandfallsomething that is scarce in the video game industry today.

”A lot of people might criticize me now for showing off, but the one thing Sandfall does and has done is respect the people who work for them. They respect the people they make games for and want them to be good. That’s why this game is great, because they wanted it to be good for the people they were making it for.”.
