Last week, a video went viral on social media showing a man and woman having sex on top of a jet ski in Maragogi Sea, a tourist town in Alagoas (AL). After the repercussions of the case, the university’s Public Prosecution Office (MPAL) opened an investigation to uncover the facts.
The man in the photos is Fabio Pereira da Silva, known artistically as “Pinho Ted”. The woman’s identity was not revealed.
The investigation is being carried out because performing an indecent act in a public place is a crime, as stated in Article 233 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
If investigations prove that the couple who recorded the video on October 29 of this year committed the crime, they may face a prison sentence ranging from three months to one year or a fine.
However, as reported by the Maragogue Public Prosecutor’s Office, the investigation is not due only to the sexual content, but because the scene was recorded in the Costa dos Curais Environmental Protection Area, the largest marine conservation unit in Brazil.
The administrative procedure is initially valid for one year and can be extended.
