According to PMDF, the family was driving a Ford Ranger truck near Costa Atacadao, on the BR-040 road, near Valparaíso de Goiás (GO), when the vehicle went out in the flood and the current began pulling it toward a bank.
Although the area is part of the state of Goiás, the Defense Forces passed by the place during investigations and, by chance, noticed the situation with the family and provided assistance.
The Popular Defense Forces said in a statement: “Exposing their lives to danger, they carried the truck’s passengers in their arms, took them out one by one from inside the car, and took them to a safe point, away from the force of the water.”
