The complaints against a state representative have been filed by councillors, state representatives and representatives of political organizations, all of which point to a possible violation of Article 5 of the Code of Ethics
After a street fight in which state Rep. Renato Freitas participated (PT-PR), last Wednesday the 19th, the Parliamentary Ethics and Decency Council of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná (Aleppo) received a series of protests against the parliamentarian.
Complaints were submitted by various council members, state representatives and representatives of political organizations. In total, eight objections were submitted between the 19th and 24th of this month.
They all jointly point to a possible breach of Article 5 of the Code of Ethics, which lists conduct deemed inconsistent with parliamentary decorum. This includes disrupting sessions or meetings, committing physical or moral offenses within the council, abusing one’s position to embarrass or obtain favors, disclosing confidential deliberations, disclosing confidential documents, improperly using office funds, favoring campaign funders, and fraudulently attending to sessions.
Presentations were made by Curitiba Council members Bruno Seco (PMB), Eder Borges (PL), Guilherme Kestre (Novo), and Tatiana Guzela (União); By State Representatives Fabio de Oliveira (Podemos), Ricardo Arruda (PL) and Tito Barrichello (PL); In addition to Willian Pedroso da Rocha, State Coordinator of the Free Brazil Movement (MBL) in Paraná.
The President of the Council, Delegate Jakovus (PL), informed that all representatives would be brought together in one process. After the report is set, the deputy involved in the fighting has ten days to present his defence.
The rapporteur will have three days to issue an opinion that may recommend canceling, preserving or suspending the rights. The procedure also provides for the hearing of witnesses and the possibility of expert interrogations, and should last between 60 and 90 working days.
