Inter missed a good opportunity to move away from the relegation zone permanently. On Monday night (24), Colorado tied 1-1 against Santos, after taking the lead and playing better in the first half.

Even with the poor result at home, coach Ramon Diaz pointed to reasons for confidence in the team’s survival. The coach expressed his admiration for the team’s actions on the field amid the exhaustion in the last half and confirmed that Colorado is alive.

“The hope that the team and these players give is the way they played today. The final stage is complex: mentally, physically and the pressure. Inter is alive, not dead. Because of the circumstances, because of the way we were created, how we played. We are not afraid because we have to compete until the end and we will do that. Let the fans and the club rest assured, we will compete until the end. We have character, the team plays, we have taken many shots.”

In the match, Inter performed better in the first half, as they pressed and created many opportunities. But they only managed to score once and wasted several chances. Diaz assessed that the team played the best first half since his arrival and expressed his regret at the attack’s lack of intensity.

It was the best first half since we arrived. We control the game, we create many situations. “It’s not easy to have a lot of chances and score just one goal.”

Fight relegation

Three points away from the relegation zone, Inter are in a delicate position with three rounds to go until the end of the season. However, the coach pointed out that there are other clubs in a similar scenario and that Colorado is not alone in this final stage.

He pointed out, “There are teams that have 42 points, one point more than us. Everyone will fight to not fall. We must have a lot of courage. This will be the goal, to maintain strength and when we have to kill the match, try to kill the match and play more calmly.”
