Afghanistan accuses Pakistan of killing 10 civilians in an attack – DW – 11/25/2025

At least nine children and a woman were killed early Tuesday morning (11/25/2025) in Pakistani attacks in Afghanistan, according to what the Taliban government announced in the context of strong tensions between these two neighbors.

“Last night, around 12 noon, in Gurbuz district of Khost province, in Mughalgai district, Pakistani invading forces bombed the house of a local civilian resident,” Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement issued early Tuesday.

The fundamentalist spokesman said that a woman and nine children, five boys and four girls, died as a result of the bombings.

It also reported other attacks in the border regions of Kunar and Paktika, which resulted in four people being injured.

After an unusual armed confrontation in October, the two countries agreed to a fragile truce whose terms they were unable to define despite several rounds of negotiations, which were specifically hampered by security issues.

These events also come after at least three people were killed the previous day in a suicide attack on the headquarters of Pakistani security forces in a province bordering Afghanistan, for which no responsibility was claimed.

On November 11, another attack outside a court in Islamabad killed 12 people and injured dozens. The Pakistani Taliban, which has the same ideology as the Taliban that regained power in Afghanistan in 2021, announced its formation.

Pakistan then accused a “terrorist cell” of having “received direction and guidance at every stage from the senior leadership stationed in Afghanistan.”
