Ukraine and Russia exchange “huge” attacks – DW – 11/25/2025

On Tuesday (11/25/2025), Kiev and Moscow reported “massive” enemy air attacks on their territory, killing at least three in Russia’s Rostov region and two in the Ukrainian capital.

These new bombings come after Russia threatened to intensify its attacks if Ukraine did not accept the 28-point plan proposed by US President Donald Trump to end the conflict. On Monday, Moscow rejected a European counter-proposal to this project, and considered it very suitable for its interests.

On Russian territory, at least three people were killed and eight others were injured, Tuesday, in a Ukrainian attack on the Taganrog and Niklinovsky regions, on the shores of the Sea of Azov, in the southern Rostov region, as the regional governor, Yuri Slyusar, announced on the Telegram platform.

Authorities in neighboring Krasnodar, overlooking the Black Sea, also reported a large-scale Ukrainian air strike against several cities.

Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratiev wrote in a telegram: “Tonight, Krasnodar was subjected to one of the most violent large-scale attacks by the Kiev regime. Six residents of the region were injured and at least 20 homes in five municipalities were damaged.”

Moscow says it intercepted 249 drones

The Defense Ministry said it intercepted 249 Ukrainian drones during the night strikes, one of the highest numbers since the start of the conflict in February 2022.

In Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy, for its part, reported a “large-scale joint attack by the enemy against energy infrastructure.”

Russia attacks its neighbor almost daily with drones or missiles. Their main target is energy systems, raising fears of a harsh winter for Ukrainians.

For its part, Kiev regularly attacks oil depots, refineries and other facilities on Russian territory.

Kyiv is under attack

In the Ukrainian capital, several explosions were heard early Tuesday morning, according to journalists at Agence France-Presse, after an air alert was issued throughout the country.

Emergency services reported that at least two people were killed and six others were injured.

“The enemy is intensively attacking the Kiev region with missiles and drones,” said Mykola Kalashnik, head of the regional military administration.

Fires were also reported in two residential buildings as a result of the attack.

The bombing continued early in the morning, and the sound of explosions that began hours ago continued to be heard in the center of the capital.

The Sviatoshyn district was one of the worst affected areas, with the city’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, also reporting damage in the Darnitsia area.
