Many candidates who will sit for the Federal District Military Fire Brigade (CBMDF) examination this Sunday (30/11), for officer and enlisted positions, are complaining about the remoteness of the examination locations and times, as the majority prepared to carry out the two examinations taking place on the same day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon.
Officer Qualification Course (CHO) to work as an aspiring firefighter in specific fields like medicine, law, nursing, etc., and Soldier Training Course (CFP) to work as a combat soldier, are the two positions offered in the public examination. The important point is that both tests are done on the same day.
According to the Institute for Educational, Cultural Development and National Aid (Idecan), CHO is scheduled in the morning from 8am to 1pm, and CFP in the afternoon from 2pm to 7pm. This rounding of schedules leaves candidates anxious, as well as the distance of test sites from registrants’ residences.
The 26-year-old nurse told one of the candidates, who preferred not to reveal herself, that Capitals Who has been studying for the firefighter exam since 2023 and who was willing to take both exams. However, with the notice posted on August 15, she realized she would have to give up one of the selections, in this case the CFP.
The nurse, a resident of Santa Maria (DF), was scheduled to perform tests at Sol Nacente (DF), in the morning and at Sealandia (DF) in the afternoon. For her, this becomes impossible because it depends on public transport and the calculated distance by bus is 38 km, in addition to factors such as traffic at peak times.
“It is very complicated to do two tests on the same day by car, let alone by bus on a Sunday where schedules are very low,” he says.
According to the student, she says she was also disadvantaged by having to make two registrations, each costing R$215 and R$140 respectively, and having to choose between one and the other.
The young woman also said that during the period in which the notice was published up to this month, she filed a complaint with other candidates to the Federal Court of Auditors (TCDF) and to the Public Ministry of the Federal District and Territories (MPDFT), but did not receive a satisfactory response.
The other affected candidate is a 27-year-old student, who also requested to remain anonymous. He lives in P Sul (DF) and has stopped having a CHO test, which will be done in the morning. He says he was forced to make this choice because of the number of vacancies, points to the disorganization of the committee and says that the recruit training test would give him more guarantees than the officer training.
The student also said that he had focused for four years and felt prepared to take both exams. According to him, this situation affected him financially and psychologically. “In addition to the exam itself, there is the issue of regret, as a lot of study time was compromised due to disorganization as well as lost money, as I had invested a lot in my preparations,” he says.
CBMDF said in response Capitals That, as published in the Official Journal of the Federal District (DODF) of June 2025, the identification of facilities, equipment, physical space and human resources for conducting the tests rests with the contracted organizing committee.
Furthermore, the company states that all security measures and assistance provided to the candidate are also included in the contract, which is monitored by the company. They also state that the difficulties reported by the candidates have been brought to the attention of the Idecan Committee, which will evaluate possible changes.
