Built at the beginning of the 20th century, the former Federal Supreme Court building – today the Federal Cultural Justice Center (CCJF) – has always attracted attention in Cinelandia due to its impressive architecture. Now, this façade distinguished by columns and stained glass windows will receive, as of Tuesday (25), a new lighting project from RioLuz, designed to highlight the details of the building on Praça Floriano – a space undergoing a revitalization.
The lighting proposal highlights the building’s lines and decorations without changing the original architectural design. The idea is to give new life to the historic building, expanding its presence in the Cultural Complex of Cinelandia and enhancing the charm of the area when darkness falls.
The building is listed as a National Historic Heritage Site, and shares the landscape with some of Rio’s most emblematic neighbors: the National Library, the Municipal Theater, the Seine Odeon, and the Pedro Ernesto Palace.
The lighting ceremony, which is open to the public, will be attended by the Director General of the CCJF and TRF2 Judge, Theofilo Miguel, the President of RioLuz, Rafael Thompson, and other municipal authorities.
