The race to replace Valencia’s presidency moved Wednesday to the halls of Congress, where the latest news leaked out on the steps taken by Carlos Mazzone on Dana Day and the PP-FOX negotiations. During her intervention, the Third Vice-President and Minister of Environmental Transition, Sarah Agsen, revealed that the state of Valenciana had requested in a letter from the central government “an energy plan free from the climate restrictions imposed by Brussels”. A letter written in collusion with the extremist formation and sent to the ministry on Monday, four days before the inauguration session in which the popular candidate, Juan Francisco Pérez Yurca, seeks the support of Santiago Abascal’s party. The PP candidate will deliver a speech whose “meaning” Genoa already knows and has Yes Sources from his government say that Alberto Nunez Viejo. No member of the management committee will attend the event in Palau on Thursday.
Talks between PP and Vox to install Pérez Yurca continue under the spotlight. Abascal’s party will not reveal its vote before hearing the candidate on Thursday, but in parallel they continue to take steps side by side. The letter sent to Aagesen on Monday shows the harmony between the two parties in Valencia, where they voted together on October 30 in Les Cortes in favor of a resolution against Brussels’ climate policies. However, the letter was only conveyed to the ministry this week, as the Popular Party candidate faces the inauguration session. In the letter, they called on the executive to “ensure that energy policy is exempt from all climate restrictions imposed by multinational organizations,” whose plan aims to “guarantee Spain’s energy sovereignty” and “extend the useful life of the Cofrentes nuclear power plant.”

On Thursday, the PP needs to vote for Vox to be able to invest Pérez Jurca in the first round. If they do not get their support, a second vote will be held 48 hours later, on Saturday. Ultras continue to remain silent about what their movement will be and point to general conditions such as rejection of the Green Charter, further restrictions on immigration and the implementation of “hydraulic works” as indispensable conditions.
This Wednesday, in the corridors of the Chamber of Deputies, extremist MP José María Figaredo supported the letter sent by the State of Valenciana to the Ministry of Environmental Transition. “The whole energy and climate issue must be turned 180 degrees: we demand a radical reduction in taxes on nuclear plants, and an end to European climate policies that have stifled industry, cars, which have great power in Valencia, and the countryside,” Figaredo said, stressing that the construction of dams and dams is “essential.”
The Vox parliamentarian also came to assess the latest news from Mazzone a day after learning that journalist Maribel Villaplana paid for parking at 7:47 p.m., an hour after leaving El Ventoro. “We have a person who acted clumsily and we have a person who acted evil and criminally. We believe that the priority of responsibilities is clear,” the Vox party leader said, referring to Mazzone and Pedro Sanchez, respectively.
“New phase”
Meanwhile, in Genoa, new data revealed about Mazzone’s actions on the Day of Dana continues to trickle down like cold water thanks to the progress of the judicial process carried out by Judge Nuria Ruiz Tobara, who is investigating the management of the disaster. They hope that the installation of Pérez Yurca will eventually ease the siege of their still very popular baron, Mazón. Sources from Genoa say: “Tomorrow begins a new phase.” When the candidate is inaugurated – as expected in the first or second round – the “organic renewal” will be activated immediately after next week. That is, replacing Mazzone as leader of the Popular Party of Valencia. “Anything we can pull off the temporary status quo will be better,” they add in Figo’s footnote.
Before this step, Perez Yurca must be invested. It remains to be seen what consequences his agreement with the Vox Party will have later on Genoa and on the Popular Party communities that will hold regional elections in the coming months. “We know the meaning of the speech that Pérez Yurca will give. From there, it is up to the Vox party,” they say in the Vigo Cabinet. Naturally, no member of the Management Committee will accompany Pérez Jurca to the plenary session that begins this Thursday at 11 a.m. with his intervention.
