Madrid, November 26 (European Press) –

Peter Skandalakis, the new prosecutor leading the case against US President Donald Trump over alleged election interference in Georgia, dropped charges against the New York mogul and the rest of those charged in the conspiracy on Wednesday.

Skandalakis — who took over the case after the Georgia Court of Appeals removed District Attorney Fannie Willis for a “conflict of interest” over having a romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade — noted in a 23-page document that he dismissed the case “to serve the interests of justice and promote judicial finality.”

The president was accused along with 18 other people of illegally pressuring state officials to overturn his defeat to former President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, though Trump has always denounced the case as part of a political “witch hunt.”
