According to the Rage Against the Machine guitarist, there is no set deadline for this material to be released to the public, but there is a great desire for it to happen.

In an interview with SNSMix (via NME), Morello commented on the delay in the process:

“It’s not that there isn’t anything, it’s just that we haven’t been able to finish everything yet. There are no plans not to release them. I would like them to reach the world and I hope that one day it will happen.”

Giving details about the source of this unreleased material, Morello added:

“It’s not like we picked the top 10. Sometimes someone likes this song, someone doesn’t like that one. So we had leftover songs from each of the three Audioslave albums, and some of them are really great.”

Audioslave and support Chris Cornell’s widow

The guitarist has support Vicky CornellChris Cornell’s widow to continue this project. In 2020 she told USA Today (via NME):

“He’s alive in this way and his legacy lives on. So for me, the most important thing is to see how much people love him and miss him and respect him and how much we want to hear more of his music. So it will all be released.”

Complete by Tim Comerford (low) and Brad Wilk (drums), Audioslave existed between 2001 and 2017. Three albums have been released: audioslave (2002), Coming out of exile (2005) and Revelation (2006).
