Members of the Specialized Center for Prison Conditions were present in the prison unit in June. The detainees reported during the visit that sour foods were served there, “especially beans and milk. Salad and juice were rarely served, and the quantity was generally insufficient,” according to the report. Guards also reported problems with hygiene products, a lack of soap, as well as an infestation of rats and bed bugs.
SAP responded this Wednesday that the São Paulo State Criminal Police had investigated the allegations. According to the ministry, maintenance, health, food and basic supplies work “follows the planned layout and is regularly monitored by the responsible teams.”

SAP also stated that the latest “insect and rat control” operation at the prison took place last week, on November 19, “in accordance with the preventive maintenance schedule of the prison institution.”
Forcaro’s defense seeks the issuance of a subpoena for the banker who was arrested in an operation carried out within the scope of Operation Zero Compliance, by the Federal Police, which investigates signs of fraudulent financial operations between Master and Banco de Brasília (BRB).
The unit in question has a capacity of 841 prisoners, according to SAP data. The regular inmates wing has a capacity of 553 inmates, of whom 459 are detained there, according to data on Tuesday (25). The other wing, designated for those who owe child support, is overcrowded, housing 329 inmates and housing 288 inmates.

The site contains eight pavilions. Each wing has eight cells that can accommodate 12 prisoners. They were distributed as follows, according to the report:
- Ward 1: Designated for former members of the security forces
- The second wing: dedicated to media prisoners and law graduates
- Ward 3: Designated for family members of security forces
- Ward 4: Designated for perpetrators of femicide who have been prominent in the media
- Wards 5 to 7: Designated for civilian prisoners
- Ward 8: treated as a kind of “common insurance”, for prisoners not linked to the central court, the so-called “opposition”
The unit also has other spaces, such as the integration area for newly arrived prisoners, which contains three cells each with a capacity of 27 people, the disciplinary area, the work area and the area for transient prisoners.
The unit’s menu follows a pattern in which breakfast is served at 6 a.m. and includes milk, coffee, ghee and bread. For lunch at 11 a.m., and dinner at 4 p.m., rice, beans, and a serving of vegetables, protein, and fruit are served. An evening snack consisting of cakes or bread is also served.
Prisoners in the unit must follow hair and beard cutting standards required by the internal regulations of the Prison Administration Secretariat, which include the number two shaving comb on both sides of the head and the number four on top. The beard and mustache must be shaved.
