Long weekends – La Nación

There is another thing in which the current government resembles Kirchnerism: it went out with a bang due to the heavy tourist traffic on a very long weekend (an inexplicable four days, considering that Sovereignty Day falls on a Thursday).

In the absence of complete satisfaction in the pockets of the average Argentine citizen, hypothetical compensation, such as football, serves the function of making us happy if our team wins the cup. Not to mention that if the victory is national (next year there will be a World Cup, let’s hope we add a fourth star).

Long weekends produce the same feeling, even for those staying at home. The mini vacation effect puts anyone in a good mood. Life is viewed with less stress and through a more optimistic lens. It is in any government’s interest for its citizens not to lose patience and to remain calm.

Nearly 160,000 tourists visited Mar del Plata, the best number in fifteen years. But this number represents only 10% of the people gathered across the country. So that President Javier Miley does not dance on one leg and show off on social networks. Let’s look forward to the upcoming long weekend: there are only nine days left.
