Iberia is confident that flights to Venezuela will resume and passenger safety is a priority

Madrid, November 27 (Eficom).- The Spanish airline Iberia hopes to resume its flights to Venezuela as soon as possible, as soon as full safety conditions for passengers are met.

Iberia sources told EFE that their priority is always the safety of passengers and crew.

The company “cannot operate in areas where there are high security risks,” such as in current Venezuela, where the Spanish Aviation Safety Agency (AESA) recommends against flying at the moment.

The company hopes that when calm is restored in the area, normal operations can also resume.

On Wednesday, the government of Venezuela revoked the flight privileges granted to a number of international airlines, accusing them of “joining the terrorist acts” promoted by the United States, which affect Iberia, TAP, Avianca, LATAM Colombia, Turkish Airlines and Gol.
