Ceuta, November 27 (EFE). – Catalan striker Marcos Fernandez, one of the top scorers in the Spanish League with 5 goals, considered that his good performance with the Ceuta team was due to his “quick integration” into the team coached by Sevilla’s Jose Juan Romero.
In statements provided by the club, the 22-year-old striker said that “from day one” they “welcomed him very well.” He said: “I feel very comfortable with the team’s play and the coach’s idea and I always try to give it my all.”
The striker, who yesterday secured a 2-1 win over Almeria, said his fifth goal came because they gave him “a bit of hard work in the dressing room”, telling him he had taken a knock and that he “had to hit it”. He commented, “This time I found myself in a similar situation and I didn’t think about it. I hit him and it became fine.”
The player, on loan from Espanyol, explained that for a striker, “it is always important to score, but you have to keep calm because sometimes they score and sometimes they don’t,” but he always tries “to give his best.”
Marcos Fernandez appreciated the trust he received from the coach, a factor he considers essential to overcome moments of scoring drought.
He pointed out: “The coach’s confidence is very important. He always tries to help me, gives me peace of mind in the last area and teaches me to make better decisions in the last meters.”
He added that the victory over Almeria (3-2) made him feel “overjoyed with the victory and his ability to help the team with a goal.” Evie
