One person was arrested and 16 more search warrants were executed in Blumenau and the region on Wednesday (26/11) due to an investigation involving the city council and businessmen. According to the Special Action Group Against Criminal Organizations (Gaeco), gravel supply fraud caused losses of more than R$ 3 million to the public treasury between 2022 and 2024. Those investigated included a former secretary of urban conservation and maintenance, other public servants, as well as employees and business owners.

The operation, called Carga Caca, is coordinated by Gaeco. During the raids, $50,000 and 80,000 Brazilian reals were seized. Jayco described that two government employees were fired from work and there was armed resistance during one of the approach operations this morning. In this case, one of those investigated was arrested.
