London, November 27 (EVI).- The Spanish Christian Mosquera, the English player for Arsenal, did not provide many clues about his international future, and whether he would choose Spain or Colombia. He said that he is very calm and that his intention is to continue working at the club until the important things come.
The Spanish defender started on Wednesday in Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Bayern Munich, then spoke to the Spanish media at the Emirates Stadium to comment on the Gunners’ favoritism in the Champions League.
“We are not focused on that, in the end, we leave that to you and the fans, who are responsible for commenting on that,” said Mosquera, who also put the Champions League and what it means to win it on the altar. “We are focused on what depends on us, the work and achieving good results. It is normal for the fans to have the illusion of achieving big victories, but we are in November and we have a lot of season left to do.”
“It would be crazy, it would be an unbelievable dream. It’s my first year, to come and get titles like this would be a dream.”
The centre-back has made two starts this season in the Champions League, and two more in the League Cup and in the Premier League, and has established himself as a third option for Mikel Arteta, who will be given more minutes in the coming days due to Gabriel Magalhaes’ injury.
He said, “I really wanted this to happen. I try to train as hard as I can, and do what depends on me to be at the coach’s disposal. I think that today I took advantage of the minutes and showed a good image to help the team.”
The player’s dual citizenship allows him to play internationally with Spain, where he plays an important role in the under-21 team as captain, and with Colombia, which would be happy to offer him a position if Luis de la Fuente does not call him up to the senior national team.
He said: “It’s a question I get asked a lot, but I’m very calm. I’m working at my club so that great things can happen and this is the way we should go.” Evie
