
Brasilia Basket struggled, but succeeded in defeating Minas for Novo Basket Brasil (NBB) on Monday evening (10/11), 80 x 78, in a duel held at the BRB Mane Garrincha Arena. With this result, the home team broke the taboo of six years without beating the Minas Gerais team.
The win moved the Federal District team up the standings and back into the top four. Highlights for the team were pivotal Brunau, with a double-double of 17 rebounds and 12 assists, and winger Vaughn Heiden, who had 14 points and two assists.

First bedroom
Minas started very strongly, while Brasilia Basket made a lot of mistakes in attack, as the visitors scored 5 x 0 from the start. However, the home team improved and thanks to their good defending they were able to turn the score midway through the quarter to 10 x 9.
Minas did not score a goal for nearly four minutes, and the home team dominated the rebounds in the last half of the quarter, in addition to committing consecutive fouls. However, Brasilia Basket’s attack made a lot of mistakes on three-pointers, with a low success rate of 16%, and thus ended up leading the scoreboard with a score of 20 x 19.
Second bedroom
The teams returned with many offensive errors, and the result changed little, but the attacks quickly came together and the baskets fell again. Brasilia Basket formed a good sequence and returned to the lead with the result of the match, but Minas reached the middle of the quarter leading 11 x 10.
The two teams exchanged baskets and leads on the scoreboard at different times, but the home team adjusted its defense again, winning another quarter 21 x 20, and maintaining its lead in the match 41 x 39.
Third bedroom
Minas again started more aggressively and led 7-0 early. Brasilia Basket made many mistakes and this time it was the team that went almost four minutes without scoring, and in the middle of the quarter the visitors scored 12 x 2.
In the final phase, Brasilia Basket improved, and with a good sequence at the end they reduced the deficit, and Minas won with a score of 22 x 14 in the quarter and 61 x 55 in the match.
Fourth bedroom
The match returned balanced, but the home team missed many balls from outside the penalty area and could not get close to the scoreboard. Thus, Minas was winning in the middle of the quarter with a score of 10 x 8.
Minas began to take more control and slow down, while Brasilia Basket took the lead in the match. In the final half, the hosts increased their advantage, preventing Minas Gerais from scoring for three minutes and, in addition, going 10-0 ahead to turn the score around and secure an important 80 x 78 victory.
