Will Centrao prevent Messias from joining the STF? – 11/27/2025 – Helio Schwartzman

Will senators from the so-called centrist veto Jorge Messias’ entry into the special force? It’s hard to say. The group’s primary strategy is to create difficulties for extracting facilities. If the government of Lula Davy gave Alcombre the compensation that the parliamentarian considers just, it is quite possible that he would become Christ’s best friend overnight.

It happens that the Center, from time to time, promotes a general adjustment to the price list. It deals a harsher blow to the administration by suggesting that subsidies are becoming more expensive. In one of these cases, the name of Lula’s nominee to the court may be overturned.

In the end, the group always gets along well. Even because of ideological differences, the government and the center will now be slightly apart in the 2026 election year, but if Lula gets his fourth term, it is the bloc he will turn to to assemble a functional coalition in 2027. Even when betting on the losing candidate, the center has secured its place in the administration.

For these and other reasons, cursing the group has become a popular sport. Many of the criticisms are very fair. The center is actually an Argentinian, a racketeer, and a sick unionist. But not all.

It cannot be said, for example, that the group’s parliamentarians do not represent the population. They do this with much greater precision than the Presidency. And you cannot accuse them of always being a force for evil. In the long run, the centre, because of its malleability, has served as an effective counterpoint to extremism and anti-regime forces.

The bloc allied with Bolsonaro, but blocked his worst legislative follies. To date, he has not received his long-awaited pardon. It also does not give Lula everything he wants to secure a fourth term.

It is interesting that humanity, although it has made incredible progress in the fields of science, technology and management, still makes politics on the basis of tricks and betrayals, just as it did in the Stone Age.
