Anestech surpasses 1 million digital anesthesia devices and enhances use of data for surgical safety in Brazil | Journalism works

In November, Anestech reached the milestone of one million anesthesia procedures recorded on the AxReg platform, a digital system used in hospitals and anesthesia groups across the country. This number exceeds the company’s expectations for this year and confirms the expansion of digital anesthesia as a safety and efficiency tool in the surgical center.

In 2024, the healthtech company ended the year with 973,000 registrations and plans to reach one million in 2025. The goal was reached ahead of schedule. “Bringing this volume of anesthesia into one digital environment means expanding the ability to learn, compare practices and define quality standards,” says Diogenes Silva, CEO of Anestech.

Digitization of the anesthesia record allows rapid access to information essential for decision-making, reducing the use of paper forms and enhancing patient safety strategies. Through indicators such as induction and wake time, additional interventions, hemodynamic stability and incidence of adverse events, anesthesiologists and managers have concrete data to review protocols, standardize behavior and monitor outcomes.

The volume of data generated also directly impacts hospital management, allowing analyzes on room occupancy, delays, cancellations and surgical turnover, as well as the use of medications, gases and supplies. This contributes to operational efficiency, reduction of disallowances and financial predictability.

From the patient’s perspective, AxReg centralizes pre-, intra- and post-operative information, facilitating communication between the team and increasing traceability of care. The World Health Organization emphasizes that structured processes, checklists and adequate records reduce risks in the surgical setting and improve coordination of care.

With more than 13.6 million elective surgeries performed by the Unified Health Unit in 2024, the highest volume in the historical series, digitization of the surgical center becomes even more important to meet the increase in demand.

AxReg automatically captures clinical data, monitoring, medications, room times, and other procedure information. Anestech also develops Axel, an artificial intelligence that helps professionals interpret data, providing predictability and support for risk analysis, always with anonymization and security rules.

The AxReg ecosystem brings together nearly 4 million actions, over 2k organizations and 8k users. In 2024, Anestech became a net-zero carbon company, offsetting the entire carbon footprint of its operations and customer anesthesia records – already 34 tonnes of CO2.

Anestech, the leader in AIMS (Anesthesia Information Management System) in Latin America, has a mission to make anesthesia procedures safer and more efficient, digitizing the perioperative period and turning data into intelligence for hospital management.
