Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) ordered on Thursday (27) the recall of batches of liquid soap for washing clothes of the brands Ypê and Tixan Ypê due to microbiological contamination.
According to the agency, this discovery was made by the same manufacturer, Química Amparo, in internal analyzes that identified the Pseudomonas bacteria.
When contacted, the manufacturer stated that the recall is a preventive and precautionary measure, applied to 14 specific batches of washing machines.
The manufacturer said that given the normal conditions of use of the product (dilution in water and no prolonged contact with skin), “the risk to the consumer is considered low.”
These bacteria prefer moist environments and can cause various types of infections, from mild ear irritation to pneumonia, especially in the elderly, those with cancer, or hospitalized patients.
Products to collect are:
- Ypê Express Liquid Washer – Lots 170011, 220011, 228011, 203011, 181011, 169011, 169011, 205011 and 176011.
- Tixan Ypê Liquid Washer – Part No. 254031 and 193021.
- Ypê Power Act Liquid Washer – Lots 190021, 223021 and 228031.
According to Anvisa, the sale and distribution of these products is suspended until the company proves they are free of contamination. The agency also recommends that consumers not use these items.
The company advised that consumers who have product at home from one of the recalled lots should contact SAC (Customer Service) at 0800-1300-544.
