This is the version of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2

Ubisoft detailed Specifications of Shadows in its version for Nintendo Switch 2; a work that is as difficult as it is rewarding for its creators.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows was born with the latest generation of desktop hardware in mind, so adapting it to the Switch 2’s ARM processor required months of code-level work.

Files and assets had to be adjusted, processes reorganized and behaviors redesignedall without altering the richness of the world or the fluidity of the gameplay.

Simulation systems (such as tissue physics or cloud behavior) remain intact, but have been adjusted to reduce the load on the GPU.

Ubisoft chose to use a pre-configured lighting solutionlighter and highly tested in-house, which saved memory

In areas with a large number of characters, the number has been slightly reducedto ensure stable animations and a drop-free frame rate.

Support for Switch 2 Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) allows the console to render at lower resolutionss, while presenting a sharper final image.

In portable mode, draw distance and some detail levels have been reduced subtly to preserve fluidity.

In turn, Dock mode uses up all of the Switch 2’s visual capabilitiesincluding HDR support.

The team itself developed its own algorithm to keep VRR active at 30 FPSsomething that helps make transitions and movements smoother.

The Switch 2 version adds touch navigation in menus, maps and in the shelterto provide an extra layer of comfort, especially in handheld mode.

What is more, The game arrives with almost all post-launch content already integratedwhile the Claws of Awaji expansion will arrive later in 2026.

Ubisoft promises continued support with new optimization patches and, in the future, keyboard and mouse support when the console is in docked mode.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows jumps to a new platform: The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be available from January 2ndand its official price will be 59.99 euros.
