The former Bellorado nuns once again prevent poor Clarice from taking care of the five older sisters

The arrest of the former abbess was not the only measure taken by the Civil Guard against the actions of the former Bellorado nuns. Late Thursday afternoon, fourteen agents arrived at the Orduña (Vizcaya) Monastery to expand the monastery. Registration to investigate the alleged gross misappropriation of works of art, which had been carried out hours earlier at the Burgos Monastery. It was a circumstance which the nuns of the Poor Clares Union took advantage of, to come to the convent and demand compliance with the order issued by the Court of Briviesca (Burgos) which ordered the transfer of the five older sisters from Pelorado – the authentic community where they had not been excommunicated – to a convent governed by the order, out of the reach of dissenters.

And so, as ABC learns, a modified taxi and several Poor Clare nuns from the Union also traveled to Orduña to care for the elderly, aged between 86 and 100 who have mobility problems and, in some cases, reduced mental capacity. The nuns, who had always resided in Bellorado, were moved by dissenters to the Biscayan convent last summer, when the eviction trial was taking place. After a report from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, including the circumstances in which the elderly women were found, and considering the possibility of eviction, the Prejeska judge decided that the poor Claires should take custody of them.

However, when the Civil Guard and the Sisters of Poor Clare appeared in Orduña at the beginning of August, the former nuns forbade compliance with the court order, and the agents, in view of the emerging conflict situation, preferred to delay the transfer. As he learned at the time, the Poor Clares’ previous attempts to prevent the elders’ departure generated great tension, which also affected the previous nuns. At that time, the police command responsible for the operation informed Judge Brevisca that in order to comply with the order, it would first be necessary to arrest the rebellious former nuns on charges of disobedience to authority, so it was preferable not to push the situation to that point.

In this context, this Thursday, coinciding with the search and arrest of the former superior, poor Clarice went to the convent to once again try to comply with the order. When compliance with the order is carried out again. At first, customers were browsing several pieces of art, some of which had been brought there by former nuns from Bellorado. “They are taking things from the convent, and apparently I had to see the record,” the former fortune teller known as Sister Sion explained in a video they provided to the press.

However, later, at the request of the Poor Clares Federation, the possibility of moving forward with the transfer of specializations was also considered. “I don’t know if we are the worst terrorists in this country, but I doubt very much that others are treated the way we are,” Sister Sion explained in the same video regarding the issue. Finally, the Civil Guard decided to reject the transfer today, and postpone it until a more appropriate time.
